Danish IT Delegation in connection with SOFTEXPO-2005.
As a part of the Danish development assistance to Bangladesh, the Royal Danish Embassy, Dhaka is arranging for the visit of a delegation of IT companies from Denmark to Bangladesh with the specific intent of outsourcing software development and IT-Enabled services. Though the volume of outsourcing from Denmark itself is not expected to be very large due to the small population of only 5 million people, it is expected that the successful entry of Bangladeshi companies into the Scandinavian market will enhance the confidence of customers in larger markets such as USA and UK.
The global market for the Offshore IT and IT Enabled services (BPO) running into several billion dollars is growing at a rapid pace and increasingly moving to countries such as China, Czech Republic, Hungary, India, Mexico, Russia, Philippines etc, with the market leader India already reaching annual exports of over 12 billion dollars.
The Danish IT delegation will attend prearranged one-to-one meetings with the Bangladeshi companies at SOFTEXPO-2005 to explore the possibilities of establishing offshore software development facilities that can create jobs for the educated youth of Bangladesh. |
